PLUS Sport is built on four key pillars:
Pillar 1: Qualification/Education
Pillar 2: Participation
Pillar 3: Mentoring
Pillar 4: Research
The project is delivered by an exciting Sport For Development partnership consortium of Active Communities Network, Community Sports Network, PeacePlayers, and Sport Changes Life.
This initiative will engage 1,600 young people aged 10–18 in grassroots programmes that build resilience, develop leadership qualities, and encourage participation in sport.
Through collaborative working with sports clubs, community organisations, and schools, PLUS Sport aims to:
• Foster attitudinal shifts and meaningful engagement across communities.
• Develop leadership and participation opportunities that promote peace and reconciliation.
• Upskill clubs to create inclusive, welcoming environments for all.
• Inspire behavioural change among individuals, coaches, and young leaders to encourage equality and cross-community connections.
This is the latest project in our PEACEPLUS Video Diary series, showcasing initiatives that are making a real difference in communities across Northern Ireland and the border counties of Ireland. Follow our socials for more!
