Self-Control – Choosing to do what you should do, not what you want to do.
Nancy Lopez is one of the most famous women in the history of golf. She was asked how she responds to frustrating days on the course. Nancy stated, “When I struggled with anything on the golf course, I just was thankful for the ability to play. When I see players that struggle and become angry, I want to walk up to them and say, ‘You know, you are so lucky to be able to do something that you love, so enjoy it. Golf is just a game and it shouldn’t control your life.’” Nancy has learned self-control while participating in one of the most challenging games.
“Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.”
1 Peter 5:8, NIV
