Matt Hasselback
Seahawks QB on Focus
Focus – Being single-minded; centering in on that which is most important
Matt Hasselbeck had the privilege of leading the Seattle Seahawks through a stellar year in 2006. Though they lost a heartbreaker in the Super Bowl (21-10), Matt played a significant role in winning the NFC championship. He was asked about the difficulty of living a Christian life while being in the spotlight as a NFL quarterback. “I think the temptations are there for anybody. I don’t care who you are. If you’re a professional football player or a freshman in high school, there are temptations everywhere. I think the key is focusing on reflecting the life of Jesus Christ.”
“So let's keep focused on that goal, those of us who want everything God has for us. If any of you have something else in mind, something less than total commitment, God will clear your blurred vision—you’ll see it yet.”
