Josh Hamilton
MLB player on humbleness
Humbleness– Lack of vanity or self-importance.
When asked about his recovery from drug addiction Texas Rangers outfielder Josh Hamilton simply states, “It’s a God thing.” Hamilton was the first player chosen in the first round of the 1999 baseball amateur draft by the Tampa Bay Devil Rays. After a serious car accident and playing in the minors he began experimenting with drugs. After several near death experiences Hamilton got his addiction under control and now fights temptation everyday, “My relationship with Christ is the most important priority in my life. I stay focused by getting into the Word every day. I overcome temptation in the same way, and by remembering that my relationship with Christ is the most important priority in my life.”
“Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.”
James 4:7 NIV
