Jerry Manuel
New York Mets Manager on Integrity
Integrity– The consistency of actions, values, methods, measures, principles, expectations and outcome.
Being a manager in Major League Baseball comes with its difficulties. Add being in New York City to that and the difficulties can be multiplied ten times because of the media scrutiny. New York Mets manager Jerry Manuel understands the pressure and when asked about how does his Faith affect the way he deals with the media he says, “My perspective is truth. “Truth liberates, truth gives you freedom, so I know when I deal with the media my integrity is at stake and I strive to be a man of integrity so if something has to be said I always deal with the truth.” Manuel does not let obstacles stand in the way of his values.
“My lips will not speak wickedness, and my tongue will utter no deceit.”
Job 27:4 NIV
