Born in Owensboro, KY Waltrip started racing at Kentucky Motor Speedway and worked his way up to becoming a champion in NASCAR. He is open about his relationship with the Lord. “When you are a Christian part of your calling is to share what the Lord has done in your life.” Waltrip is now retired from racing but working for Fox Sports. He states that in addition to his work responsibilities he also has a responsibility to God to help others in their walk. “I tell guys all the time to get your life in order and get a relationship with the Lord because there are a whole lot of benefits that go along with it and it is better to not wait until the last minute.”
