Conviction – Standing for what is right even when others don’t.
Arguably the best and youngest up-and-coming player in the country, Catherine “Cat” Whitehill’s brilliant play as a defender earned her a spot on the U.S. Olympic Team, which captured a gold medal at the 2004 Games in Greece. She shared, “If someone starts talking about God, I tell them that Jesus is the only way to Heaven. Mostly, I try to let my actions do the talking. They might see my purity ring and ask me why I’m waiting until I am married. I tell them that’s the way I was brought up and that’s the way the Lord says to do it.”
“Keep your eyes open, hold tight to your convictions, give it all you’ve got, be resolute, and love without stopping.”
1 Corinthians 16:13-14, The Message
Moral compromise is often the enemy of conviction. The next time you are in a conversation where your traditional values are being questioned, take a stand for your convictions even if no one else does.
