Avery Johnson
NBA analyst on Passion
Passion – Expressing intense enthusiasm for something meaningful.
Avery Johnson’s early years in the NBA looked anything but promising, especially after being cut three times. He played for ten NBA teams, but the “Little General” never gave up. Avery commented, “It’s all about passion, but my faith is the foundation. When I’m on that court, I have to give an account for what I do. I know that every game I’ve got to be passionate, and energized, and ready to go because that’s what I need to do as an individual and that’s what my team needs from me.” Because of his passion and his fast-track success, Avery Johnson was the 2006 NBA Coach of the Year.
“So, my dear brothers and sisters, be strong and immovable. Always work enthusiastically for the Lord, for you know that nothing you do for the Lord is ever useless.”
1 Corinthians 15:58, NLT
